My name is Delphine and–surprise!–I have a disability. Ok, so most of the people reading this already personally know me, and this is no surprise at all. But, who knows? I could make it big. And if some stranger (or many strangers) decides to read my blog and do it in chronological order, then–surprise!–I have a disability.
I was born with Spinal Muscular Atrophy, a type of Muscular Dystrophy. I have never walked and currently use a power wheelchair. It is kind of the perfect time for this because it just so happens to be (drumroll please) SMA Awareness Month! You can read all about it (and maybe make a small contribution *wink*) here.

This blog is not meant to be a blog solely focused on living with a disability. But I do live with a disability, and it permeates every part of my life. It has shaped the person I am today and will continue to shape the person I am becoming.
I am not looking for pity or to become anyone’s inspiration porn (don’t know what that means? Look it up. Google is your friend… sometimes).
I am a person who is constantly moving toward thriving. What happens when I feel like I am thriving? Well, I will keep striding. Because thriving is a verb, it requires action. This is my journey. My hope is that maybe there will be something in my journey that can help you thrive.
So you ready? Let’s stride.

The journey is never ending. There’s always gonna be growth, improvement, adversity; you just gotta take it all in and do what’s right, continue to grow, continue to live in the moment.
